The Fairdowells is an indie folk duo based in Cleveland, Ohio, that features beautiful harmonies, acoustic guitar & ukulele, and powerful, heartfelt songwriting. Inspired by a variety of artists & genres, the duo brings an eclectic mix of sounds & styles to their music. The Fairdowells combines Lauren Michelle Morgan's choir & musical theater background, love of creative writing, and analytical skills as a marriage & family therapist with the performance background & multi-instrumental chops of seasoned Northeast Ohio musician Adam Reifsnyder.
In 2019, tragedy struck & altered the couple’s course, eventually leading them to make the musical partnership official. Within the span of two weeks, the pair experienced tremendous grief & trauma, beginning with the loss of a wanted pregnancy, followed by a testicular cancer diagnosis for Adam. In the wake of these painful events, the couple turned to music as a way to strengthen their bond & to heal. As the worst seemed behind them, Adam & Lauren penned the song When the Sun's Out (Acoustic) about the hope and joy waiting for them after the difficulty of the year. Through that writing process, the pair realized their love of writing & performing together & decided to make the group official.
